General information:

The class H-47 and H-47a comprised a total of 140 3 compartment, 4750 cu. covered hoppers built by the Magor Car Corporation in 1965. They were delivered in the final PRR scheme, with black lettering on an unpainted aluminum carbody. They were delivered as follows:

Class H-47 - PRR 260871-PRR 260970, 100 cars, Magor Lot #W-6570, Serial #'s 83052-83151, delivered 5/65
Class H-47a - PRR 260656-PRR 260705, 50 cars, Magor Lot #15007, Serial #'s 83660-83709, delivered 12/65
20-3/4" X 47' 9-1/2" trough roof hatch cover opening, three 24" X 30" center discharge gravity outlets, morton steel running boards.
